Welcome to my turn on the #NotForgotten blog tour.
Already there have been Q & A’s with Wendy Walker, guest posts too with more to come over the next few days.
Today I am sharing my views on a book that I think everyone should read and am giving away 3 copies of the book, so that 3 more people get to read a book that will not be forgotten in a hurry.
To be in with a chance of winning please just comment below, telling me why you would like to read this. Closes 25th July.
For fans of The girl on the Train and Gone Girl, All Is Not Forgotten is the next ‘grip-lit’ sensation.
You can erase the memory. But you cannot erase the crime.
Jenny’s wounds have healed.
An experimental treatment has removed the memory of a horrific and degrading attack.
She is moving on with her life.
That was the plan. Except it’s not working out.
Something has gone. The light in the eyes. And something was left behind. A scar. On her lower back. Which she can’t stop touching.
And she’s getting worse.
Not to mention the fact that her father is obsessed with finding her attacker and her mother is in toxic denial.
It may be that the only way to uncover what’s wrong is to help Jenny recover her memory. But even if it can be done, pulling at the threads of her suppressed experience will unravel much more than the truth about her attack.
All Is Not Forgotten is an incredibly powerful book, harrowing yes, compelling reading yes and Wendy Walker achieves the unthinkable by making a book that revolves around a brutal rape a must read and for this she should be applauded, as to write about such a topic in a real yet interesting and informed way is a talent.
It has a unique plot that is 100% fascinating and displays a medical insight that is ahead of its time, it draws deeply on family emotions and how different people cope both personally and as part of a unit to deal with events outside of their control.
The hashtag #NotForgotten is very apt in this case as I will not ever forget reading this and am grateful for both the advance copy and also the chance to be part of the blog tour for such a high profile book, that in my opinion deserves acclaim and success.
Don’t forget (lol) to tell me why you need this book in your life and be sure to check out the other blogs on the tour. Thanks for reading. x
